Method and guidance
Use this tool with confidence
The planner selects seven published recipes around your preferences and keeps every recipe link visible. Review each recipe before sending ingredient lines to the Grocery List Generator.
How the weekly plan is built
The generator filters published recipes by the preferences that have reliable metadata, then balances the shortlist across seven days. A leftovers night can reduce the number of separate cooking sessions. Budget and protein preferences are lightweight matching signals; they do not calculate local store prices or nutritional targets. Every suggested meal links to the full recipe so you can verify yield and technique.
Make the plan realistic
Choose a cooking-time limit that fits your busiest weekday, not your easiest day. Put longer recipes on days with more time and plan leftovers after a meal that stores well. Simple quantities scale when the published yield is an unambiguous number of servings or people. Other yield formats and uncertain ingredient lines are marked for manual quantity review. Full day creates breakfast, lunch and dinner slots; unavailable meals stay unfilled. Lock meals before regenerating, or swap an individual meal. Check the recipe yield before shopping.
Turn the week into action
After generating a week, review every recipe and use the grocery action to transfer its ingredient lines into the grouped list builder. Remove pantry staples you already own, keep cold and frozen shopping separate, and print or copy the final checklist. The plan is stored only on the current device, which makes it quick and private but means clearing site data removes it.
Example workflow
Begin with a small, accurate set of preferences. Review the first results, open the complete recipe that best fits, then move missing ingredients into the grocery list or add the meal to a seven-day plan. Because every result stays connected to a published recipe URL, you can confirm cooking time, servings, substitutions and storage notes before acting.
Review before you rely on a result
Use the shortlist as a decision aid, then check the complete recipe before cooking. Confirm the yield for your household, read every ingredient label when allergies or dietary needs matter, and follow the published temperature and storage directions. The tools compare words and saved recipe details; they cannot inspect food freshness, guarantee a dietary classification, calculate nutrition, or know current shop prices. If a result feels too broad, change one preference at a time and run it again. This keeps the recommendation understandable and makes it easier to see why a recipe appeared.
7-Day Meal Planner FAQs
Is the generated plan saved?
The latest plan is stored locally in this browser. It is not uploaded to an account or synchronized across devices in the current version.
How does budget preference work?
It favors recipes whose ingredients and metadata suggest pantry staples or lower-cost formats. It is not a price quote.
Can I change a suggested day?
Generate another plan or use the Dinner Idea Generator to find an alternative. Always open the recipe before cooking.
Does family size change ingredient quantities?
No automatic quantity scaling is promised. Use the visible recipe yield and verify the amounts yourself.
