Method and guidance
Use this tool with confidence
Paste one ingredient per line, enter the published and target servings, and choose how supported units should display. Lines that cannot be converted safely stay unchanged and are clearly flagged.
Scale quantities conservatively
The serving factor is applied only to ingredient lines with a clear leading number. Ranges, count-dependent wording and unclear lines remain visible for manual review.
Convert dimensions, not ingredient density
Volume converts between cups, spoons and millilitres; weight converts between pounds, ounces and grams. The tool will not convert a cup of flour to grams without a verified ingredient-specific basis.
From a recipe choice to a grocery list
Choose a recipe that fits your ingredients and schedule. Open the complete recipe, check the published yield, then use its meal-planning or shopping link. Adjust servings before building the final list, and review uncertain quantities and pantry items before shopping.
Review before you rely on a result
Use the shortlist as a decision aid, then check the complete recipe before cooking. Confirm the yield for your household, read every ingredient label when allergies or dietary needs matter, and follow the published temperature and storage directions. The tools compare words and saved recipe details; they cannot inspect food freshness, guarantee a dietary classification, calculate nutrition, or know current shop prices. If a result feels too broad, change one preference at a time and run it again. This keeps the recommendation understandable and makes it easier to see why a recipe appeared.
Serving Scaler & Converter FAQs
Can cups be converted to grams?
Not safely without an ingredient-specific density. Cups convert to millilitres; ounces and pounds convert to grams.
What happens to ranges and optional amounts?
They remain unchanged and are flagged for review instead of being guessed.
Can I print the scaled list?
Yes. Results can be copied, downloaded or printed.
Does scaling change cooking time or pan size?
No. Review the original method because time, pan depth and equipment may not scale proportionally.
